Joyo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use
the Joyo mobile application ("App").
Short version: Joyo stores all your personal data — habits, journal entries,
profile details, and cat progress — locally on your device only. We do not upload your
personal content to any server.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the App:
- Habit & Routine Data: The habits, challenges, and daily tasks you create and log are stored exclusively in the App's private local storage on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
- Profile Information: Your display name, avatar image path, bio, and age (all optional) are stored locally on your device using the App's private preferences. You may skip profile setup at any time.
- Cat & Room Progress: Your virtual cat's status, Fish Treat balance, room decorations, and in-app progression are saved in local storage on your device only.
- App Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics (e.g., feature usage frequency, crash reports) to improve the App. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
- Purchase Records: In-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only a transaction receipt confirmation to verify and fulfil your Fish Treat purchase within the App.
- Sign in with Apple: If you choose to authenticate using Sign in with Apple, we receive only the user identifier and optionally your name as provided by Apple. This is stored locally on your device and is never sent to an external server.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App's core features: habit tracking, cat companion, Fish Market, and daily moments.
- To verify in-app purchases and credit Fish Treats to your local account.
- To personalise your in-app experience (display name, avatar, preferred habits).
- To diagnose technical issues, improve performance, and fix bugs.
3. Data Storage & Security
All user-generated content — including habits, journal notes, cat progress, and profile
data — is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage (SharedPreferences /
app sandbox). We do not transmit your personal content to any external server.
We implement appropriate technical safeguards to protect your locally stored data from
unauthorised access. You can delete all app data at any time by removing the App from
your device.
4. In-App Purchases & Fish Treats
The App offers optional consumable in-app purchases (Fish Treat packs) processed exclusively
through Apple's In-App Purchase system. The App does not offer subscriptions or recurring billing.
- Payment Processing: All payment transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or process your credit card or payment information.
- Purchase Receipt: We receive only a transaction receipt from Apple to verify and credit your Fish Treat purchase locally on your device.
- Apple's Data Practices: Purchase-related data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Refunds: Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services:
- Apple In-App Purchase: Payment processing governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple: Optional authentication governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We store only the minimum identity token required to maintain your local session.
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT): The App may request ATT permission on iOS 14.5+ to measure campaign effectiveness in line with Apple's guidelines. You may opt out at any time in your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Joyo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information
through the App, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Since all personal data is stored locally on your device, you retain full control over it.
You can:
- Delete all app data by uninstalling the App from your device.
- Delete your in-app account and associated local data via the Account settings in the App.
- Opt out of optional analytics data collection via your device settings.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this
page will reflect any changes. We will notify you of material changes within the App or via
the App Store update notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of
